Blog 9

Hello everyone! I hope you have all had a good week, welcome back to my blog. this semester i am taking this class virtually. It has not been easy as I have a very loaded schedule and job, so I have been behind a bit in this class. I feel that I could keep up better in person as online can be confusing for me. There are a lot of assignments for this class, so although the class itself is not difficult, the hefty course work makes things way more tedious. Over all it has been a great educational class however. I dislike classroom experiences when the teacher isn't doing the teaching. I don't enjoy classes where i am attending for is to serve as an audience member to student presentations. When i am a teacher I will try my best to be as engaging as possible for all of my students.

The five R's are reuse, retain, revise, remix, and redistribute. The definition of OER, open educational resources, are resources made publicly available for education use to all. I really appreciate open educational resources. I believe that resources should be easily accessible and open for all to use.  This link describes the equality that goes together with open educational resources.  I think this resource is great because it has different areas of OER you can read into. There are different modules to explore on this website that touch upon different topic including justice, equality, and economics that are all very informative and specific coming from reliable sources.

I really enjoyed our assignment four. I felt like an actual teacher putting together a lesson plan and teaching it. I thought only my voice would be recorded, but I was also video recorded so I see how teachers must feel when they are teaching a lesson. It can be a bit nerve wracking. I taught a lesson on introduction to music theory because I am a musician so I feel it is easy for me to teach this. I feel the lesson I created is something I would actually use if I taught children music one day.

 Blog #8

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog! And Happy Halloween!! The web design is an assignment i will be turning in late. However, i did start it and learned a bit about how to create a website. I did like how easy the website was to navigate. i also enjoyed how it allowed for creativity. In my future i could use these skills to set up a website for my students to use.

I learned a few new skills while using diigo. i learned how to highlight and annotate parts of webpages. and i was also able to create bookmarks. this would be an excellent tool for my future students. it can be helpful for studying or citing projects and research works.

Teachers in this day and age must not only be amazing instructors but also technologically saavy. the following website is one that includes the latest and trendiest teacher technology. while trends dont always last, they can be an exciting way to make your student more excited and engaged. personally, anything interactive would be the best for of instruction in my classroom. https://elearningindustry.com/top-educational-technology-trends-2020-2021

Blog Journal 7

Hi everyone, and welcome back to my blog. The teacher page i decided to look at is from my high school, Coral Reef Senior High School. i went to this school and the website my teacher would use was facebook! this was an excellent resource for students because it is social media which we often spend time looking at and it was an easy way to get information.

I envision myself using technology when I become a teacher to inform my students. Not only would I include resources, but a full agenda to keep student up to date on assignments and what is coming up next in the curriculum. I would include helpful quizlets, khan academy, youtube videos, and a "ask me" hyperlink where students can ask any educational questions that they may have when completing homework. To keep track of my productivity i would use excel spreadsheet planners to keep me and my class on track.

In my experience using Wiki, i have to say i did not find it enjoyable. I felt that the website was quite confusing and unappealing visually. this made it even more difficult to use. However, it was a good platform for the group project at hand. it was simple to organize and separate individual works. Students in the future could complete similar website review assignments using this platform.

Blog Journal 6

Hello all! This has been my first time ever using Diigo. Overall I found the website it be quite confusing at first. If it wasn't for the guidance on canvas, I would have had no idea how to navigate the website or the extension. once i got the hang of it, it did become a bit easier, however I do no find it to be user friends, visually pleasing, or more useful than another software.
As far as my experience with blogging I have been having a hard time keeping up. While it is a simple assignment, it can be quite tedious as I have such a heavy work load this semester. I am taking 6 courses and currently studying for my nursing entrance exam. However I do find the blogs to be a great way to use our voices and connect with fellow classmates as well as our professor. I am a bit behind on posts but luckily I can use a token.
I have had maybe web 2.0 experiences throughout my schooling. My favorite 2.0 tool thus far has been YouTube. There are so many educational resources available on this website. Professionals in any field you could imagine have educational videos of all kinds. This is by far my favorite tool.

Blog Journal #2

 Hello everyone!

I have been using Microsoft Word basically since I began my student career. From essay writing, to book reports, to creating Data Tables, i have become one with Microsoft Word. and the variations of it (Powerpoint). On the other hand, i am not overly familiar with Google Docs for example. These different programs were introduced to me once i entered college and they are a bit confusing. where as Microsoft is so simple, somewhat old fashioned, and user friendly.

I believe that the ISTE Standards for Educators are an excellent road map for future educators. Reading over the various standards, i would have to say that "Facilitator," would be the most important standard for K-12 instructors. In todays day and age where technology is everything, it is crucial that teachers use technology as a key component in aiding instruction. This will also introduce students to different types of technology so that is becomes second nature.

I do agree on the name "digital native," for todays youth. They are really the first age born into this extremely technological era. From the time they are born they will be surrounded by devices, the same devices they will grow up using. I do see a difference between how my teachers and i use technology. They use it to teach us, while it is what we have to learn from.

Just Jules Ashley

Hi World, its just Jules. i am currently in my senior year of college at Florida State University! I am loving it so far, but it can also get very lonely. I have never been away from home, so this is definitely going to take some adjusting. However, I am looking forward to receiving my Bachelors in psychology and continue my education in the nursing field.

I have taken one education course in the past but did not have the opportunity to use any unique technology. All we used was a computer and camera. I took this course during the pandemic so i was able to experience what it would be like teaching via Zoom. I had to create lesson plans and teach it to my classmates during a zoom session.

A learning network i often use to support my learning is Quizlet. There are innumerable sets of learning material on any subject you could imagine. There are different study option that test the mind in unique ways. I believe this to be the best way to learn.
