Hello everyone! I hope you have all had a good week, welcome back to my blog. this semester i am taking this class virtually. It has not been easy as I have a very loaded schedule and job, so I have been behind a bit in this class. I feel that I could keep up better in person as online can be confusing for me. There are a lot of assignments for this class, so although the class itself is not difficult, the hefty course work makes things way more tedious. Over all it has been a great educational class however. I dislike classroom experiences when the teacher isn't doing the teaching. I don't enjoy classes where i am attending for is to serve as an audience member to student presentations. When i am a teacher I will try my best to be as engaging as possible for all of my students.
The five R's are reuse, retain, revise, remix, and redistribute. The definition of OER, open educational resources, are resources made publicly available for education use to all. I really appreciate open educational resources. I believe that resources should be easily accessible and open for all to use. This link describes the equality that goes together with open educational resources. I think this resource is great because it has different areas of OER you can read into. There are different modules to explore on this website that touch upon different topic including justice, equality, and economics that are all very informative and specific coming from reliable sources.
I really enjoyed our assignment four. I felt like an actual teacher putting together a lesson plan and teaching it. I thought only my voice would be recorded, but I was also video recorded so I see how teachers must feel when they are teaching a lesson. It can be a bit nerve wracking. I taught a lesson on introduction to music theory because I am a musician so I feel it is easy for me to teach this. I feel the lesson I created is something I would actually use if I taught children music one day.
Hi Jules, great blog post! I agree that it is sometimes difficult to manage your time when you have so many responsibilities. I try my best to plan ahead but it can be overwhelming. I also agree with what you said about assignment four. It felt like real, good practice for what we will likely be doing in the future.
ReplyDeleteHi Jules,
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with your comment that when the teacher is not teaching it can make for a boring classroom. I love the background theme for your blog! Excellent post and great insight!
Hey Jules, I agree with you about the workload of the class. I didn't find the assignments particularly hard, but the amount of a assignments is what gets to me. I have also found myself behind this semester due to circumstances beyond my control and it feels hard to catch up.
